All monsters are human

Hey,

I was watching Scooby Doo the other day (I know, I'm so cool) and I realised that monsters are real, however they are not like how you imagine when you are young. The real monsters are human. We are the ones who get to define who the "monsters" are.

Living with an illness I have been called a monster many times and it hurts. When people see me they don't know how to react just because I am not 'normal'. Just because I am different from them they seem to think they can class me as a monster and that is stupid.

The fact is all humans are monsters and all monsters are humans. We could all act in a monstrous way whether that be with violence or words. But then all monsters are only human beings who have made a mistake or who are different to you.

I'm not going to sit back and become the person I am labelled as. People's opinion of you does not define who you are, let them say what they want, just keep doing you.

Just remember, judging a person does not define who they are. It defines who you are.

Thanx for reading.

How to: Study

Hey there,

So the dreaded exam season is here 'yay'. If like me you don't have a clue how to revise then this might help. Some of these are what I do when I'm revising, but others are just tips on what else you could do.

First your going to need to get all your notes together on whatever subject or topic you want to study. The subject I needed to study was History and the topic: The League of Nations.

I re-write all of the information I have learnt as my class work may be messy or what is important may be in the form of questions or pictures. This step isn't essential so you can skip it out. However if you do carry out this step then make sure to take your time on it and not rush it as it will be easier to understand if it is neat. But don't spend all your time making it look pretty as long as its readable its fine.

After that I read through what I have written a few times making sure I haven't missed anything out that I may need to know, that it is all correct and to try and get some of it to stick inside my head.

Next I will pick out the most important things and write them on flash cards. The revision cards I have are from Wilkinson's and they were only £1!

Usually on these I will write key words and definitions or short facts. These cards are double sided so you could write a question on the front and the answer on the back to test yourself.

If you cant find any flash cards or revision cards to buy then you can make your own by folding an A4 piece of paper into 4 and cutting along the folds.

Then what I do is get out my revision guide (yes on the picture there is a maths book as well but shush pretend its History) and I read through everything it has on the topics in there making any extra notes or completing the questions.

If you don't have one of these then I really recommend buying them, they aren't too much and they have everything you need to know for you exam in them. Also you can get them for every subject that you can do an exam on (and maybe more?) If you already have one then use it!

Here are 8 tips that I try to follow:
  1. Don't start revising the day before. I know this sounds simple but most people leave their revision until the night before or the day or. You don't have to start mega early but if its for an exam I suggest a couple of months before if its just an assessment or facts test start at least a week (preferably two) before. You can even make a revision timetable if that is easier for you.
  2. Take breaks every half an hour (if you need them more often then do them as much as you need which will benefit you). But make sure to have some discipline and keep your breaks short, say 5minutes.
  3. Make posters or write on post-it-notes and stick them around the house in places you look e.g. at the top of the stairs, above your kettle.
  4. Have drinks and snacks with you as you wont be able to concentrate on an empty stomach and drinking can keep you focused (stick to water though)
  5. I know this sounds really odd but I do this all the time when I'm revising, speak in different accents or tones! It might be the fact that it makes revision fun but seriously this works! Just give it a go.
  6. Now if like me you really can't get motivated to revise you just have to think to yourself how much it will help and simply get up and do it. I know it's hard to stop procrastination but when you're in the exam you will be so glad you spent that time revising instead of playing video games.
  7. Don't spend all your time revising. I know you will be really stressed out but if you spend all your time revising it will be just as bad as not revising at all. You need to make time for social activities or even just going for a walk.
  8. Write stuff out, reading through your notes wont do you any good you need to actually write stuff out.
I hope this will help some of you, if it does that's great, if it doesn't sorry... tell me what would help.
Thanx for reading and stay awesome.

Easter Holiday Haul

Hello lovely people,

So when I'm writing this it is coming to the end of the Easter break (end of spring term break), which is 2 weeks of shopping opportunities! As it is my birthday in March I actually had money to use and I used it. For this post I thought I would show you what I got but the photos aren't very good, turns out clothes are hard to take photos of when you're not wearing them.

I bought this top from Dorothy Perkins as it was only £7 in the sale and it is great material for the warmer weather. When I tried it on it fitted perfectly (my one was a size 6). On the left is a close-up of the sleeve and the pattern and on the right is a whole picture. The colours look different on the right at on the left I used natural light whereas on the left I didn't. The left picture gives a better representation of the actual colours.

These nail varnishes! Oh my, they are amazing! As it is spring I really wanted some pastel colours but I had none, when I saw these 'Barry M Speedy Quick Dry' nail varnishes I knew that these would be perfect. I was quite wary to buy these as I had never tried Barry M before but they were 2 for £6 so I took a gamble and bought them. The colours I got were 'Kiss me quick' a pastel pink, 'Road Rage' which is a greeny-blue colour, 'Lap of honour' which is a lavender purple colour and 'Pit stop' which is light grey. All of the colours I loved and I totally recommend them.

Me and my family went to ASDA and they had 2 for £7 on all the books; I saw The Pointless Book 2 and I wanted to get it as it is great for entertainment then I literally freaked out as I saw Paper Towns by John Green. I read this book a couple of month ago and I fell in love. I loved this book so much and I couldn't find it anywhere to buy, so I'm very happy with my purchase.

These socks are so cute, they are navy blue with a white frill around the top. They look really nice with creepers or brogues (but not my pink jeans). These were only £2 from Dorothy Perkins.

I got this beautiful charm bracelet from Claire's and it was only £5. It is a silver chain with pink roses, Pearls, Birdcages and Birds hanging on it. In the large picture you can see I have paired it with another bracelet which I got years ago from accessorize.

Then last of all are the random items I got. So I have got a minion festival bracelet which is from HMV, me and my friend got a pack of 2 for £3.99 and we had 1 each. Then I have the VO5 Strong Hold, Weather resistant Hairspray- I got the green one which leaves your hair soft to touch, which is long lasting and 'ultrafine'. Then there are JVC gummy headphones in the colour Grape Violet (Headphones are hard to take photos of) and they are from ASDA. Then bottom right is the Rimmel London Salon Pro 60 second nail varnish in the colour 'Rhythm & Blues' which is a really dark blue, nearly black and I got this for £1!

I did get a few other items but they were from a Charity shop so I'm not going to include them as I don't know which shops they were from and how much they are. Also I don't know if you would be able to find them again. Thankyou for reading this far and I hope you like this style of blog.

April Favourites

Hey there.

I'm really sorry but I haven't got any pictures this time (well non that I own) as my camera has decided to break. I really wanted to post a favourites because I love writing these once in a while.

First up,

Music Favourites

I have been obsessed with listening to Music this month, it's my happiness, my escape, my therapy.

My favourite song of this month has got to be a cover of Love me Like you do (Original by Ellie Goulding) Cover by Gabby. When I say I haven't stopped listening to it that isn't much of an exaggeration. I have listened to this cover for at least 4 hours since I listened to it, yesterday... The first time I heard it I played it non-stop on repeat for 2 hours. Don't judge me... Here is the link so you can check it out for yourself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eExLxoXB1rE

My next song I have been obsessed with is completely different to that one. It is Dial Tones which if I'm not mistaken is a pop punk song. I love this so much, every time I hear it I just cant help but dance. It is just makes me smile, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyBV4yoEZ6A&index=4&list=FLKEEheyEqw0Be_q1U2fK88g

A new band that I have discovered this month is We Are The In Crowd. I love there music so much, they are an American pop punk band, my favourite song is Long live the kids but I also like: Better luck next time, Come back home, Manners and The best thing that never happened. However if you don't like music with swearing in then you wont like this, as it swears quite a few times (you might be able to find a clean version though)

Lastly for music favourites is the first song I have heard for a while that I instantly fell in love with. I didn't have a clue who it was by or what it was called so I googled the lyrics. Turned out it was All Time Low's song: Something's Gotta Give. I was so exited by this as I've listened to these guys before. I guess I've got a thing for American Pop Punk bands as these are one as well. Here is a link to there song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYeM0nFWcqE&index=10&list=FLKEEheyEqw0Be_q1U2fK88g

Clothing/ Accessory/ Beauty Favourites

Usually these sections would be separate but I don't have many so I'm just going to put them together.

One thing I've been loving is wearing nail varnish, I don't have any in specific that I like to wear I just pick a random colour. This may seem stupid but just a simple things like the way my nails look makes me feel a lot better about myself and more confident. Sometimes I may draw on my skin as well, I don't really like having ink on my skin though so that's only for when I'm really close to self harming (At the moment I do have sharpie drawings all over my hand, it wont come of but it worked).

I don't know if this counts as an accessory but I really like wearing elastic bands on my wrist, I don't know why, it helps me stay calm and sometimes I flick it of myself seeing how much force I have to use for it to hurt.

Another weird favourite but I have been doing this thing where I get an eyeliner brush and put mascara on it and use it as gel eyeliner. I do have liquid eyeliner and gel but non in black and this works just as well!

For clothes I was loving wearing dresses for a while but then my body remembered who I was and my looks so now if I wear one I have to wear tights. I do love dresses though, they make me feel, normal I guess.

So that's it, that's all my favourites, sorry that it wasn't too much. I was in the mood for a favourite blog. Thankyou for reading and see you next time, maybe?
